What it does

Selling to customers in other countries means many of them see prices in a currency they do not use every day. That forces shoppers to do their own math before they buy. This plugin adds a widget to your storefront where visitors choose a currency, and every WooCommerce formatted price on the page, including cart and checkout totals, is converted and shown in that currency. Exchange rates come from the Open Source Exchange Rates API, with money.js handling the conversion in the browser.

Checkout still processes payments in your store's base currency, so your payment setup and accounting stay the same. The plugin records the converted amounts each customer saw at checkout, which gives you a reference for which currencies your shoppers prefer. You can offer as many currencies as you like, and adding the widget does not require coding. It requires WooCommerce, supports High Performance Order Storage (HPOS), and works on block themes.

Best for

  • WooCommerce stores selling to international customers
  • Shop owners who want local currency prices without changing checkout
  • Agencies building WooCommerce sites for global brands

Questions about Currency Converter

Will customers be charged in the currency they select?

No. The widget changes the prices shoppers see, but checkout transactions are still processed in your store's base currency. The plugin stores the converted amounts the customer viewed so you have a record of what they saw.

Where do the exchange rates come from?

The plugin pulls rates from the Open Source Exchange Rates API and uses money.js to convert prices. Displayed prices and cart totals update in real time based on those rates.

How many currencies can I offer?

You can add as many currencies as you want. Each one appears as an option in the widget, and shoppers can switch between them while they browse your products and review their cart.

Does it work with HPOS and block themes?

Yes. It supports WooCommerce High Performance Order Storage, and it runs on block themes. It handles the case where another plugin stops the widget from loading without causing a fatal error on the site.

Is Currency Converter free?

The code of Currency Converter is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.

Which version of Currency Converter is this?

Version 2.2.10, released Jun 8, 2026. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.

How do I update Currency Converter?

Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Currency Converter automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.

What does Currency Converter need?

Currency Converter needs WooCommerce installed and active.
