What it does
WP Job Manager handles the work of posting and listing jobs, but its default look may not fit your site. Changing it usually means writing custom CSS or editing templates. This add-on gives you a settings interface instead, where you adjust backgrounds, typography, borders, spacing and input field sizes for your job listings and widgets. The result is a job board that follows your branding while keeping all of the core listing features WP Job Manager already provides.
Styling is only part of it. You can also show or hide listing elements such as job location, posting date, company sections, application buttons, logos and social media links, which helps you build a cleaner board that shows only what your visitors need. If you run more than one site, you can export your styling settings as a JSON file and import them elsewhere, keeping the design consistent across sites or carrying it over during a migration.
Best for
- Job boards built on WP Job Manager
- Recruiters who want listings matching their brand
- Agencies running job boards across several client sites
Features
Set backgrounds and borders for job listings and widgets from a settings interface so your job board follows your site's colors and design.
Adjust the text styling used in your listings so job titles, details and descriptions match the fonts and look of the rest of your site.
Control spacing around listing elements and change the dimensions of input fields to get a tidier, more consistent layout on your job board.
Choose whether to display job location, posting date, company sections, application buttons, logos and social media links on your listings.
Save your styling settings to a JSON file and load them on another site, which keeps branding consistent and makes site migrations simpler.
All design changes happen through the plugin's settings, so site owners without CSS or template experience can still customize their job board.
Works on top of WP Job Manager, adding design options while leaving its core job listing features in place.
Questions about Job Designer
Does Job Designer work on its own or does it need WP Job Manager?
It is an add-on for WP Job Manager. It extends that plugin with styling and display options, so you need WP Job Manager running on your site for it to have listings and widgets to customize.
Do I need to know CSS to change how my job listings look?
No. Backgrounds, typography, borders, spacing and input field sizes are all adjusted through the plugin's settings interface, so you can restyle your listings without writing any code.
Can I remove details like the posting date or application button from listings?
Yes. You can hide or display job location, posting date, company sections, application buttons, logos and social media links, so each listing shows only the information you want visitors to see.
Can I reuse the same design on another site?
Yes. Your styling settings can be exported as a JSON file and imported on a different site. This is handy for agencies managing several job boards or for moving a site to a new setup.
Is Job Designer free?
The code of Job Designer is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of Job Designer is this?
Version 1.4, released Sep 1, 2023. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update Job Designer?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Job Designer automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
