What it does
Switching learning management systems usually means recreating courses one lesson at a time, which is slow and easy to get wrong. This add-on handles that transfer for sites running LearnPress, Tutor LMS, Sensei LMS or Lifter LMS. It reads the course content from the source plugin and maps it into the LearnDash structure, so LearnPress sections become LearnDash lessons and Tutor LMS topics become lessons. Quizzes and questions come across too, with certain question types converted to match the LearnDash format.
The migration runs from the LearnDash LMS settings, where you pick the source LMS and choose which courses to move. Some things stay behind on purpose because the platforms store them differently: course progression data, meta attributes and media files are not migrated. After a run, the tool reminds you to review the results, especially for courses from Sensei LMS and Lifter LMS, where custom blocks and features may need a manual check. Developers also get a filter, learndash_migration_format_question, for adjusting how questions are formatted.

Questions about LearnDash Migration
Which LMS plugins can I migrate from?
The plugin supports LearnPress, Tutor LMS, Sensei LMS and Lifter LMS. You choose the source LMS in the LearnDash LMS settings, then select the courses you want to bring into LearnDash.
Will my students' progress come across?
No. Course progression data is intentionally excluded because the platforms store it differently. Meta attributes and media files are also not migrated, so plan to handle those separately after moving your course content.
How does it handle course structures that differ from LearnDash?
It maps them automatically. For example, LearnPress sections become LearnDash lessons and Tutor LMS topics become lessons. Quizzes and questions are carried over, and some question types, like LifterLMS multiple choice, are converted to the LearnDash format.
Do I need to check courses after migrating?
Yes, a review is recommended. The tool reminds you to double-check content, particularly for courses from Sensei LMS and Lifter LMS, since custom blocks and features may not translate exactly into LearnDash.
Is LearnDash Migration free?
The code of LearnDash Migration is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of LearnDash Migration is this?
Version 1.1.1, released Nov 6, 2024. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update LearnDash Migration?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of LearnDash Migration automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
