What it does

If you look after several WordPress sites, moderating comments usually means signing into each dashboard one at a time. That gets tedious fast, especially for agencies handling many client sites. This extension gathers comments from every connected Child Site into a single list inside the MainWP Dashboard, so you can review discussions and act on them from one place. It requires the MainWP Dashboard, since it works as an add-on to that setup.

Filters help you find what needs attention, with keyword search, status options such as pending, approved and spam, and a date range. From there you can handle comments one by one or select a batch and apply a bulk action. A widget on the Site Overview page lists recent approved, pending and trashed comments across your sites. Comments on custom post types are included too, and comment actions can be tracked through Network Activity logging.

Best for

  • Agencies moderating comments on many client sites
  • Freelancers running several WordPress sites through MainWP
  • Site owners with active blogs across multiple domains

Features

Central comment management

View and moderate comments from all your connected Child Sites in one list inside the MainWP Dashboard, with no need to log in to each site.

Filtering by keyword, status and date

Narrow the comment list with keyword search, status filters for pending, approved and spam, and a date range to focus on what matters first.

Bulk moderation actions

Select many comments at once and approve, disapprove, mark as spam, unspam, restore or delete them in a single action from the dashboard.

Individual comment controls

Handle comments case by case with options to edit, approve, mark as spam or move a single comment to the trash.

Recent comments widget

A widget on the Site Overview page shows the latest approved, pending and trashed comments across your sites so you can respond quickly.

Custom post type support

Moderation covers comments left on custom post types as well as standard posts and pages, so nothing slips outside your view.

Adjustable comment display length

Set how much of each comment appears in the dashboard list to match the way you prefer to read and moderate.

Activity logging for comment actions

Comment actions can be recorded through Network Activity logging, giving you a record of comment-related changes across your network.

Questions about MainWP Comments

Do I need MainWP to use this?

Yes. This is an extension for the MainWP Dashboard, and it works with the Child Sites you have connected there. It adds a comment management area to that dashboard rather than running on its own.

Can I moderate comments in bulk across different sites?

Yes. You can select multiple comments from your connected sites and approve, disapprove, mark as spam, unspam, restore or delete them together. You can also filter the list first by keyword, status or date range to pick the right batch.

Does it handle comments on custom post types?

It does. Comments on custom post types are included alongside comments on regular posts and pages, so sites using portfolios, products or other custom content can be moderated from the same list.

Can I edit a comment from the dashboard?

Yes. Along with approving, marking as spam and trashing, you can edit an individual comment directly from the MainWP Dashboard without opening the Child Site where it was posted.

Is MainWP Comments free?

The code of MainWP Comments is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.

Which version of MainWP Comments is this?

Version 6.0, released May 4, 2026. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.

How do I update MainWP Comments?

Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of MainWP Comments automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.

What does MainWP Comments need?

MainWP Comments needs MainWP installed and active.
