What it does
If you manage many WordPress sites, checking each SSL certificate by hand takes time and is easy to forget. An expired certificate can leave visitors facing browser warnings. This extension moves that job into your MainWP dashboard. It checks the certificates of your connected sites on a schedule you choose and warns you by email ahead of expiration, so you can renew in time. Newly connected sites are included in monitoring automatically, and automatic checks run only on sites that use HTTPS.
The extension requires MainWP, and your individual sites need only the standard MainWP Child plugin. Once it is running, a dedicated column on the Manage Sites screen shows the SSL status of every site at a glance. You can run a manual check whenever you want a fresh reading, adjust settings per site or switch monitoring off where it is not needed, and set how far in advance alerts arrive. A history log keeps a record of past statuses for troubleshooting.
Best for
- Agencies maintaining client WordPress sites through MainWP
- Freelancers managing several WordPress sites from one dashboard
- Site owners running a portfolio of HTTPS websites

Questions about MainWP SSL Monitor
Do I need to install anything extra on my child sites?
No extra plugins are needed on your individual WordPress sites beyond the standard MainWP Child plugin. The extension itself runs inside your MainWP dashboard, which it requires in order to work.
Can I control when I get warned about expiring certificates?
Yes. You can choose how far in advance email alerts arrive before a certificate expires, and you can set how often the automatic checks run. This lets you fit the alerts to your own renewal routine.
Can I turn off monitoring for some sites
Yes. Monitoring settings can be adjusted per site, including disabling monitoring where it is not required. Automatic checks are also limited to sites that use HTTPS, so sites without SSL are not checked.
Where can I see the SSL status of all my sites?
A dedicated column on the Manage Sites screen in MainWP shows each site's SSL status. A history log in the dashboard also records past statuses, which helps when tracking changes or troubleshooting.
Is MainWP SSL Monitor free?
The code of MainWP SSL Monitor is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of MainWP SSL Monitor is this?
Version 5.3, released Aug 13, 2026. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update MainWP SSL Monitor?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of MainWP SSL Monitor automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
What does MainWP SSL Monitor need?
MainWP SSL Monitor needs MainWP installed and active.
