What it does
Merchants who process with Moneris need a way to take card payments inside WooCommerce without sending shoppers elsewhere. This plugin, which requires WooCommerce, adds Moneris as a payment method with an on-page checkout, so customers stay on your site while they pay. It accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, UnionPay, Diner's Club and JCB, and it handles payments in both Canadian and US dollars, picking the right merchant account based on the transaction currency.
Day to day, most of the work happens in your WooCommerce dashboard. You can choose to authorize payments and capture charges later, and you can issue full or partial refunds or void transactions without logging into Moneris. Shoppers can save cards through Moneris tokenization and manage them from their account page. Tokenization also lets the gateway work with WooCommerce Subscriptions and Pre-Orders. The gateway requires SSL, and sensitive card data is stored on Moneris servers, which reduces the PCI compliance load on your own site.
