What’s new in Order Status Control 1.16.4

Version 1.16.4 · Oct 7, 2026 Latest
  • ImprovedImprove handling of onboarding admin requests

What it does

Out of the box, WooCommerce only completes orders automatically for virtual and downloadable products after a successful payment. Physical orders stay in processing until someone updates them by hand. For stores with steady order volume, that means a lot of clicking through the orders screen just to change a status. This plugin lets you set rules so paid orders move to completed on their own, which cuts down the routine admin work that comes with every sale.

Setup happens inside the WooCommerce settings, and there are only a few choices to make. You pick whether all paid orders should complete automatically, whether only virtual or downloadable orders should, or whether auto-completion should be disabled. It works with standard WooCommerce order flows, so it fits shops selling services, digital files, physical goods or a mix. It requires WooCommerce to run.

Best for

  • WooCommerce stores selling digital downloads or virtual services
  • Shops with physical products that ship without manual review
  • Store owners who want fewer manual order status updates

Features

Automatic order completion

Orders can be marked as completed right after a successful payment, so you no longer need to update each status by hand.

Complete all paid orders

Choose to auto-complete every paid order in your store, including orders for physical products that WooCommerce would normally leave in processing.

Virtual and downloadable only

Limit auto-completion to orders that contain virtual or downloadable products, keeping physical orders in processing for manual handling.

Option to disable auto-completion

Turn automatic completion off entirely if your workflow needs every order reviewed and updated manually before it is marked complete.

Settings inside WooCommerce

All options live in the WooCommerce settings screen, so configuring your completion rules takes only a few clicks and no coding.

Works with standard order flows

Built around the standard WooCommerce order process, it suits stores selling many kinds of products in different regions.

Yes. WooCommerce normally leaves physical orders in processing, but this plugin lets you set every paid order to complete automatically, regardless of product type. You can also keep the default behavior if you prefer.
