Order Tags

What it does
As order volume grows, the default orders list makes it hard to spot which orders need special handling. Opening each order to check payment method, shipping zone or coupon use takes time. This plugin lets you mark orders with labels such as Priority or Pending Payment, each with its own text and background colors, so the status of an order is visible at a glance from the list itself.
Tags can be added manually on single orders or in bulk from the orders list, and automatic rules can assign them when an order matches conditions like order total, payment method, shipping method, customer role, customer order count or product category. Rules use operators such as equals, greater than, contains and starts with. It requires WooCommerce, can tag renewal orders from WooCommerce Subscriptions, and includes hooks and functions for developers.
Best for
- WooCommerce stores handling a steady flow of orders
- Shop teams sorting orders by payment or shipping method
- Subscription stores tracking renewal orders separately
Features
Assign tags automatically when orders match conditions such as order status, payment method, shipping zone, coupon use, customer role or product category.
Build precise rules with operators including equals, not equals, greater than, less than, contains, starts with and ends with.
Add or remove tags on individual orders from the order detail page, or on many orders at once through bulk actions in the orders list.
Create unlimited tags with your own text, background and text colors, plus tooltip descriptions that explain what each tag means.
Organize tags in hierarchical parent and child relationships, and the display order of assigned tags follows that hierarchy.
Filter the orders list by a specific tag, or find orders that have no tags at all, to prioritize fulfillment work.
Apply tags to existing past orders in bulk, with an option to remove tags from all orders and confirmation prompts before changes run.
Works with WooCommerce Subscriptions so renewal orders can be tagged automatically and labeled consistently across recurring purchases.

Questions about Order Tags
Can tags be applied automatically without me checking each order?
Yes. You set rules based on order attributes such as total, payment method, shipping method, shipping zone, coupon use, customer role, customer order count or product details including meta data and categories. Orders that match get the tag automatically.
Can I tag orders that were placed before I started using it?
Yes. There is a bulk set and reset page for applying tags to past orders, so your order history can be organized too. It also includes an option to remove tags from all orders, with confirmation prompts before the action runs.
Will the tags show up when I export orders?
Tags can be exported along with orders when you use third-party export products. Tag data is also synced to order meta, which makes it easier for other plugins and integrations to read and use.
Can developers customize how tags behave?
Yes. The plugin includes filter hooks and functions for custom development. For example, one filter switches tag display to a minimal style, and another lets guest orders count toward customer order count calculations.
Is Order Tags free?
The code of Order Tags is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of Order Tags is this?
Version 5.0.0, released May 28, 2025. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update Order Tags?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Order Tags automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
What does Order Tags need?
Order Tags needs WooCommerce installed and active.
