What it does
Default WooCommerce search can leave shoppers scrolling through loosely matched results, especially in stores with large catalogs. This plugin builds its own index of every product and keeps it current as you add, edit or remove items. Results appear live in the search field with images and prices, and customers can add products to their cart right from the results. Search weights rank items by how well they match the keywords, so closer matches show up first.
The plugin requires WooCommerce and sets itself up automatically with Storefront and its child themes. Elsewhere you can place search fields, filters and product grids using blocks, widgets and shortcodes, which suits custom shop pages or landing pages. Filters can narrow results by keyword, price, category, tag and attribute, with thumbnails, color swatches, icons and logos. A custom cache works with Redis and Memcached, and the back end reports show what shoppers look for and which searches come up empty.
