What’s new in Sequential Order Numbers Pro 1.21.11

Version 1.21.11 · Oct 7, 2026 Latest
  • ImprovedImprove handling of order-number search sort requests

What it does

By default, WooCommerce assigns order numbers that skip around and look random, which makes orders harder to reference, sort and match against accounting records. This plugin gives every new order a number that follows directly from the last one. You can pick a custom starting number, or let it continue from your existing highest order number so there are no conflicts with past orders. That works for a brand new shop or one with a long order history.

Beyond the basic sequence, you can shape the format of each number. Prefixes and suffixes can carry a store identifier, department code or branding, and they can include date and time parts such as year, month, day, hour, minute and second. Leading zeros keep numbers at a fixed length, like 00001000. Orders containing only free products can sit outside the paid series with their own prefix, which keeps financial reports cleaner. Configuration happens in the WooCommerce settings, and the plugin requires WooCommerce.

Best for

  • WooCommerce store owners wanting orderly, trackable order numbers
  • Shops that need order numbers aligned with accounting records
  • Stores giving away free products alongside paid sales

Features

Sequential order numbering

Replaces the random default WooCommerce order IDs with numbers that run in order, so each sale is easier to find, reference and match in your accounting.

Custom starting number

Choose the number your sequence begins with, useful when opening a new store or giving an existing store a fresh numbering system.

Prefixes and suffixes

Add text before or after each order number, such as branding, a store identifier or a department code, so numbers carry meaning at a glance.

Date and time elements

Insert day, month, year, hour, minute or second into prefixes and suffixes to give each order number useful context about when it was placed.

Zero padding for fixed length

Pad order numbers with leading zeros so every number has the same length and format, for example 00001000, which keeps lists neat and uniform.

Separate series for free orders

Keep orders that contain only free products out of the paid sequence and give them their own prefix, which makes financial reporting simpler.

Continues existing numbering

Picks up from your current highest order number, avoiding duplicate or conflicting numbers and keeping your order history consistent.

Settings inside WooCommerce

All options live in the WooCommerce settings screen, so you can configure your numbering format without writing code.

Questions about Sequential Order Numbers Pro

Will my existing orders conflict with the new numbering?

No. The plugin can continue numbering from your existing highest order number, so new orders follow on without clashing with older ones. You can also set a custom starting number if you prefer a fresh sequence.

Can I add my store name or the date to order numbers?

Yes. You can add prefixes and suffixes for branding, store identifiers or department codes, and include date and time parts such as year, month, day, hour, minute and second within them.

How are orders with only free products handled?

You can exclude orders that contain only free products from the paid sequential series and give them a separate prefix. That keeps free orders identifiable and your paid order numbers clean for reporting.

Can I make all order numbers the same length?

Yes. The plugin can auto-pad order numbers with leading zeros to a fixed length, producing uniform numbers such as 00001000 that line up neatly in lists and reports.
