What it does

Selling to customers in other countries gets awkward when every price is shown in your store's base currency. Shoppers have to do the math themselves and may not know what they will actually be charged. This plugin solves that by detecting each visitor's location from their IP address and showing prices in their local currency. Customers can also pick a currency themselves using a switcher added as a widget, a menu item or a sticky bar.

You decide how conversions work. Set fixed exchange rates when you want stable pricing, or pull live rates through an API so prices follow current market values. Display settings cover currency symbols, codes and formats, and you can round prices or add charm endings such as .99. At checkout, the currency can change automatically based on billing or shipping country, and orders placed in other currencies sync back to your base currency in WooCommerce Analytics for reporting.

Best for

  • WooCommerce stores selling to customers in several countries
  • Shop owners who want prices shown in local currencies
  • Agencies building international WooCommerce sites for clients

Features

Geolocation currency detection

Detects a visitor's location from their IP address and shows product prices in their local currency without them having to choose it manually.

Live or fixed exchange rates

Use fixed rates for stable pricing, or fetch live exchange rates from rate providers through an API so converted prices reflect current values.

Multiple currency support

Add and manage as many currencies as your store needs, so customers in different regions can shop and pay in the one they know.

Flexible switcher placement

Place the currency switcher as a widget, a menu item or a sticky bar, so shoppers can change currency from wherever they are on the site.

Custom currency display

Adjust currency symbols, codes and display formats so converted prices match the look and conventions you want for your store.

Checkout currency auto-switch

Changes the currency automatically during checkout based on the customer's billing or shipping country, keeping the final price in their local currency.

Rounding and charm pricing

Round converted prices automatically and add price endings such as .99, so foreign currency prices look tidy instead of showing odd decimals.

Analytics order sync

Orders placed in other currencies are synced to your base currency in WooCommerce Analytics, keeping your sales reports consistent.

Questions about WC Currency Switcher

Does this work without WooCommerce?

No. It is built as an extension for WooCommerce and needs WooCommerce active on your site. It adds multi-currency pricing, switching and checkout handling on top of your existing WooCommerce store.

Can customers actually pay in the currency they select?

Yes. Shoppers can complete their purchase in the currency they selected. The currency can also switch automatically at checkout based on the billing or shipping country, so the final price matches their location.

How accurate is the location detection?

By default it detects location from the visitor's IP address. For more precise results, the plugin can integrate with the MaxMind IP geolocation service, which improves how reliably the right currency is picked for each visitor.

Will my sales reports get mixed up with several currencies?

Orders made in different currencies are synchronized to your store's base currency in WooCommerce Analytics. That keeps your sales tracking and reports in one currency even when customers pay in many.

Is WC Currency Switcher free?

The code of WC Currency Switcher is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.

Which version of WC Currency Switcher is this?

Version 2.0.5, released Jul 24, 2026. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.

How do I update WC Currency Switcher?

Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of WC Currency Switcher automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.

What does WC Currency Switcher need?

WC Currency Switcher needs WooCommerce installed and active.
