What it does

When a product sells out, interested shoppers often leave and never return. This plugin gives them a way to register their interest instead. A waitlist button appears on the product, and customers who join receive an automatic email once stock is back. It works with simple, variable and grouped products, so individual variations can carry their own waitlists. You can also set a minimum stock threshold so emails only go out once enough units are available.

On the store side, waitlists are visible and manageable from the WordPress admin area, which helps you see which products people are waiting for and plan restocking. Admins can get email alerts when customers join, export waitlist data as CSV and keep an archive of waitlists and sent notifications. Customers manage their own waitlists from a Your Waitlists tab in their account. Developers can adjust emails, buttons and layouts through hooks and filters, and the plugin is listed as compatible with WooCommerce Subscriptions, WPML, The Events Calendar and Product Bundles.

Best for

  • WooCommerce stores that frequently sell out of popular items
  • Shops selling products with many size or color variations
  • Store managers who want demand data to plan restocking

Features

Automatic back-in-stock emails

Customers on a waitlist receive an email notification automatically when the product they signed up for is restocked in your store.

Works across product types

Waitlists are supported for simple, variable and grouped products, so shoppers can wait on a specific variation as well as a standard item.

Minimum stock threshold

Choose how much stock must be available before back-in-stock emails are sent, which helps avoid notifying a long list when only one unit arrives.

Admin waitlist management

View and manage waitlists from the WordPress admin area, and receive email alerts when customers join so you can follow demand for products.

Customer account tab

Shoppers can review and edit the waitlists they have joined through a dedicated Your Waitlists tab inside their customer account.

Flexible button placement

Waitlist opt-in buttons can be placed on product pages as well as on archive and shop pages, with customizable opt-in elements.

CSV export and archives

Export waitlist user data to CSV for analysis or marketing, and keep archived records of waitlists and the notifications that were sent.

Analytics tags and developer hooks

Add Google Analytics tracking codes to waitlist emails, and use hooks and filters to customize email templates, buttons, notification behavior and page layouts.

Questions about WooCommerce Waitlist

Does it work with variable products?

Yes. The plugin supports simple, variable and grouped products. Customers can join a waitlist for a specific variation, and the email goes out when that variation is back in stock.

Can customers remove themselves from a waitlist?

Yes. Each customer gets a Your Waitlists tab in their account where they can review and edit the waitlists they have joined, without needing to contact the store.

Will it send emails when only a single unit comes back?

You control that with the minimum stock threshold setting. Back-in-stock emails are sent only once stock reaches the level you configure, so you can avoid notifying many shoppers about very limited stock.

Which other extensions does it work with?

It requires WooCommerce and is listed as compatible with WooCommerce Subscriptions, WPML, The Events Calendar and Product Bundles. Developers can also adjust its behavior through hooks and filters.

Is WooCommerce Waitlist free?

The code of WooCommerce Waitlist is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.

Which version of WooCommerce Waitlist is this?

Version 2.6.2, released Jul 1, 2026. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.

How do I update WooCommerce Waitlist?

Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of WooCommerce Waitlist automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.

What does WooCommerce Waitlist need?

WooCommerce Waitlist needs WooCommerce installed and active.
