What it does
Building galleries in WordPress often means hunting through a flat media library and rebuilding the same structure by hand. This addon works with your media folders instead. You can choose images straight from organized folders, or import an entire folder at once and keep its original hierarchy. Google Photos albums can be imported the same way. Images and videos can sit in the same gallery, with support for local MP4 files and videos from YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Twitch, Facebook Watch and Wistia.
Once a gallery exists, you choose how it looks. There are eight themes, including masonry, portfolio, slider and material design, and you can preview them live before picking one. Visitors can browse multi-level galleries through an AJAX folder tree in a left menu, and tags let them filter large collections. Drag and drop sorting handles ordering across nested albums, and galleries can be managed and inserted from both the Block Editor and the Classic Editor. It suits photographers, content creators and businesses with large image collections.
