What it does
Search engines can miss videos tucked inside posts and pages, and building a video sitemap by hand is tedious and easy to get wrong. This plugin scans your content for videos, including embeds from YouTube and Vimeo and files you host yourself, and writes them into an XML sitemap that follows Google's video sitemap format. When you publish a new video or change an existing one, the sitemap updates to match, so you do not have to keep track of it yourself.
You control what goes into the sitemap by choosing which content types and individual videos to include, and posts set to No Index can be kept out per post type. Videos placed in term descriptions are picked up too. The plugin also adds video schema markup, generates thumbnails, lets you set URL priority and includes validation against Google's specifications. A styled view makes the sitemap easier to read in a browser, and it works alongside popular WordPress page builders.
