What it does
Most WordPress customization ends up scattered across a child theme, a functions file and a handful of snippets. When you switch themes, much of that work can break or disappear. This plugin keeps your custom code, templates, images and content blocks compartmentalized in one interface that does not depend on the active theme. It is designed to work alongside theme frameworks such as Genesis, GeneratePress, Kadence, Astra, OceanWP and BB Theme, so you can keep using the framework you prefer.
Day to day, you add or edit custom code and watch the result in a real-time preview mode. A visual hook map shows where hooks sit in your theme framework, and custom hook blocks let you place Block Editor content at those locations. You can edit CSS live on the front end with sandbox tools, set display rules with WordPress conditional tags, and move everything between sites with import and export.
Best for
- WordPress developers building on theme frameworks
- Agencies reusing customizations across client sites
- Site owners who expect to change themes later

Edit CSS live on the front end of your site with sandbox tools, so you can adjust the design visually while viewing the actual page.

Questions about Extender Pro
Will my customizations survive if I switch themes?
Yes, that is the main idea. Custom styles, functions, scripts and templates are stored in the plugin independent of the active theme, so they stay intact when you change themes. Hook-based placements may need retargeting since hook locations differ between frameworks.
Which theme frameworks does it work with?
The plugin is designed to extend popular frameworks including Genesis, GeneratePress, Kadence, Astra, OceanWP and BB Theme. The visual hook map shows the hook locations in whichever of these frameworks you have active.
Can I use the Block Editor to build custom content?
Yes. Extender Blocks let you build content with the WordPress Block Editor, and custom hook blocks let you insert that content at specific hook locations across your site.
Can I copy my setup to another site?
Yes. The import and export system lets you back up your customizations and transfer or deploy them to other sites or environments, which is handy for staging workflows or reusing a setup.
Is Extender Pro free?
The code of Extender Pro is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of Extender Pro is this?
Version 1.4.7, released Jul 6, 2026. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update Extender Pro?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Extender Pro automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
What does Extender Pro need?
Extender Pro needs Astra installed and active.
