What it does

On most gamified sites, only administrators can hand out points or achievements, and they have to do it from the dashboard. That works for automated rules, but it leaves out the moments when a teacher, moderator or fellow member wants to recognize someone's effort right away. This add-on moves awarding to the frontend, so the people closest to the activity can give recognition as it happens, without logging into the admin area.

You set up award forms for points, achievements or ranks and place them with a block, shortcode or widget. Achievement and rank forms can be limited to specific types, or you can let the person awarding pick the type. Role-based permissions decide who is allowed to give awards, and an award history keeps a record of what was given. It requires the core GamiPress plugin and fits e-learning platforms, community forums and membership sites.

Best for

  • E-learning platforms where instructors reward learners
  • Community forums with moderators recognizing members
  • Membership sites encouraging peer recognition
