- ImprovedAdd JetFormBuilder plugin dependency
What it does
Some forms need a ceiling. An event has a fixed number of seats, a contest should count one vote per person, and a special offer may only be open to the first group who responds. Without limits, you end up sorting through extra entries by hand or turning people away after they have already filled out the form. This addon adds those limits directly to your JetFormBuilder forms, so the form itself closes or blocks repeat entries when the rules you set are met.
Settings live inside the JetFormBuilder form editing panels. You set an overall cap, choose how to identify individual users (by IP address, cookie, session or logged-in status) and write the messages people see when a form is closed or restricted. Checks run both when the form loads and when it is submitted, so page reloads and manual resubmissions do not get around the limit. Reset intervals let counters clear automatically for recurring use, which suits registrations, homework submissions, surveys, job applications and user sign-ups.
Best for
- Event and course registration forms with limited spots
- Voting contests and polls that allow one entry per person
- Sites running surveys, job applications or limited-time offers
Features
Set a maximum number of total submissions a form can receive, so it stops accepting entries once that cap is reached.
Stop the same person from submitting more than allowed by identifying them through IP address, cookie value, session value or logged-in status.
Write your own messages for closed forms, restricted users, errors and visitors who are not logged in, so people know why they cannot submit.
Embed shortcodes in restricted, closed, error or not-logged-in messages to add dynamic content to what visitors see.
Apply your own styles to restricted and error messages so they match the look of the rest of your site.
Schedule submission counters to reset after a set period, reopening the form for recurring events or repeated usage cycles.
Limits are verified when the form renders and again on submission, which prevents bypassing them through page reloads or manual resubmissions.

Questions about Limit Form Responses
Do I need JetFormBuilder to use this?
Yes. This is an addon for JetFormBuilder, and its settings appear inside the JetFormBuilder form editing panels. It adds submission limits to forms you build with JetFormBuilder rather than working as a standalone form plugin.
How does it tell one user from another?
You choose the identification method that fits your form. Options include IP address, cookie value, session value and logged-in status. For example, a members-only vote could rely on logged-in status, while a public survey might use IP address or cookies.
Can a form reopen automatically after it fills up?
Yes. You can set a reset interval that clears the submission counter after a chosen period. That is useful for recurring events, weekly sign-ups or any form you want to reopen on a regular cycle without editing it each time.
What do visitors see when the limit is reached?
They see a message you write yourself. Separate messages are available for closed forms, restricted users, errors and visitors who are not logged in, and you can style them and include shortcodes for dynamic content.
Is Limit Form Responses free?
The code of Limit Form Responses is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of Limit Form Responses is this?
Version 1.1.2, released Sep 17, 2026. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update Limit Form Responses?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Limit Form Responses automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
