MediaPress User Watermark tackles this by placing a visible watermark on each image as users upload it to a MediaPress gallery. Your copyright line, site name or any other message ends up on the image itself, which makes casual reuse less attractive and keeps ownership clear.
The plugin is built for the MediaPress gallery system used on BuddyDev-based community sites, and it ties into your existing MediaPress setup. You set the watermark once from a settings screen in the WordPress admin area: choose the text, adjust its size and transparency, and pick where it sits on the image, such as a corner or the center. From then on, user uploads are handled automatically across a range of image formats.

Do I need MediaPress for this plugin to work?
Yes. The plugin is built specifically for the MediaPress gallery system from BuddyDev and applies watermarks to images uploaded through it. If your site uses a different gallery or media plugin, it will not watermark those uploads.
Can I choose where the watermark appears on the image?
You can. There are five positions to pick from: top left, top right, center, bottom left and bottom right. You can also adjust the watermark's size and opacity so it fits the look of your galleries.
Will I have to watermark each image myself?
No. Once your settings are saved, the watermark is added automatically to images users upload to MediaPress. There is no need to edit photos one by one or ask members to do anything extra.
