What it does
A password on its own is a single point of failure. If someone guesses or steals it, they can get into the account. This addon adds a second step to the login process: after entering their credentials, users receive a PIN by text message and must type it in before access is granted. Because the code goes to the phone number the user provided, a stolen password alone is no longer enough to sign in.
The addon works inside Pie Register, so it fits into the registration forms you already use. You add a two-step authentication field where users enter their cell phone number, connect your Twilio account to handle SMS delivery, and set how many minutes each PIN stays valid. Administrators can also receive SMS alerts whenever a new user signs up, which makes it easier to keep an eye on registrations without checking the dashboard.
