What it does
Community sites collect a lot of personal detail, and members do not all want the same people seeing it. This plugin adds privacy settings to BuddyPress so each member can decide who views their profile. Options run from everyone, to logged-in users, friends, group members, or fully private, where only the member and site admins can see it. Members can also hide themselves from the Members Directory and its search results, keep their last active time out of view, and choose whether to accept friendship requests.
Administrators keep control at the site level. You can set a default visibility level for new users, and you can switch to an admin-only mode where members cannot change their own privacy settings. The Members Directory itself can be limited to all visitors, logged-in users only, or site admins. The plugin requires BuddyPress and works with the BuddyBoss platform, including visibility for photo, video and document tabs. A Paid Memberships Pro addon can tie profile visibility to membership levels, and developers can adjust privacy levels through hooks.
