What it does
Running separate gateways for cards and PayPal means more accounts to manage and more places to check when something goes wrong. This plugin connects WooCommerce to Braintree so both payment types run through one account. Customers can save their card or PayPal details for later purchases, so returning buyers skip re-entering their information. You also decide whether to charge customers right away or authorize a payment and capture the funds later, which helps stores that confirm stock or ship before billing.
Security and day-to-day order handling are covered too. Card payments can use 3D Secure authentication, and the plugin follows Secure Customer Authentication (SCA) rules for European payments. Fraud detection tools screen unreliable cards before a payment is accepted. Refunds go back through Braintree from the order details page. For stores selling in several currencies, you can assign merchant IDs per currency. It also works with YITH Subscription for recurring billing and with WPML for translating the plugin interface.
