What it does
If you run appointments through BookingPress and want to take payment at booking time, you need a gateway that handles the methods your clients actually use. This addon brings Braintree into the booking flow, so payments are accepted directly within BookingPress without sending customers away to another page. Braintree combines the payment gateway and the merchant account, which means you deal with one provider instead of juggling several services for cards and wallets.
Setup happens in your BookingPress dashboard. You enter your Braintree Merchant ID, Public Key and Private Key, and the gateway is ready to use. From there, customers can pay with Apple Pay, PayPal, Venmo or major credit and debit cards such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Diner's Club. Braintree supports over 130 currencies and merchants in regions including the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia and parts of Asia, and its fraud protection tools help screen suspicious transactions.
