What it does
Many forms need more than text. Job applications ask for a resume, feedback forms may need a screenshot, and contact forms often call for a document or photo. Drag & Drop File Upload gives JetFormBuilder a file field built for this. People can drag one or several files into the upload area or browse for them, and the field accepts common formats such as images, documents and PDFs.
You control what gets through. Each upload field has settings for allowed file types, size limits and instructions shown to the user, which helps block unwanted or harmful files. Uploaded files are stored automatically and can be reached from the WordPress backend, with options for server storage or WordPress attachments. The field also works inside Repeater rows, can attach files to email notifications, and keeps upload links in Form Records, including those from guest visitors.
Best for
- Sites already building forms with JetFormBuilder
- Job boards and careers pages collecting resumes
- Businesses gathering client documents, images or feedback files
Features
Visitors can drag files straight into the form field or use the standard file picker, so both habits are covered on the same form.
The field accepts several files in one submission, which suits applications or requests that need a resume, a cover letter and supporting documents together.
Images, documents, PDFs and other formats can be accepted, giving you room to use the same field across different kinds of forms.
Set limits on file size and allowed file types so the form rejects uploads that do not match your rules, helping keep unwanted files off your site.
Each upload field can have its own restrictions and instructions, so you can tell users exactly what to send and in which format.
Choose between server storage and saving files as WordPress attachments, then find uploaded files from the WordPress backend when you need them.
Uploaded files can be attached to email notifications, and upload links, including those from guest users, are kept in Form Records.
The upload field is responsive, giving people a consistent experience whether they submit from a desktop, tablet or phone.
Questions about Drag & Drop File Upload
Do I need JetFormBuilder to use this?
Yes. This is an add-on for JetFormBuilder, so it adds a drag and drop file field to forms you build with that plugin. Uploads are handled as part of your existing JetFormBuilder form workflow.
Can I limit which files people upload?
You can. Each upload field has settings for allowed file types and maximum file size, and you can add instructions for users. Files that do not match your rules are rejected, which helps keep harmful or unwanted uploads out.
Where do uploaded files end up?
Files are stored automatically and can be accessed from the WordPress backend. You can choose server storage or WordPress attachments, and upload links are kept in Form Records, including those submitted by guests.
Can uploaded files be sent with form notification emails?
Yes. Uploaded files can be attached to email notifications, including emails sent through delayed email events, so the right people receive the documents along with the form details.
Is Drag & Drop File Upload free?
The code of Drag & Drop File Upload is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
