What it does
Many portfolio plugins lock you into fixed rows or rigid grid schemes, which makes every gallery look the same. This plugin lets you build custom layouts that fit whatever container they sit in. A visual builder shows changes in real time, and you can arrange items by hand in Manual Mode or let Dynamic Mode generate grids with pagination, shuffled items and repeated structures. On smaller screens, complex layouts switch to simpler, touch-friendly versions with lighter images.
Content can come from many places. The grid supports 14 item types, including images, sliders, audio players, embedded videos, custom content and post content, and it can pull from WordPress posts, WooCommerce products or your Media Library. Each item can carry custom attributes with icons, such as author or category. Visitors can filter the grid, open items in a lightbox with deep linking, and share them on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and WhatsApp.
Best for
- Photographers and designers presenting a body of work
- Agencies building client portfolio pages
- Stores displaying WooCommerce products in a visual grid
Features
Design portfolio layouts visually with a real-time preview, so you can see how a complex arrangement looks as you build it.
Manual Mode gives you control over each element, while Dynamic Mode builds grids quickly with pagination, shuffled items and repeated structures.
Mix images, sliders, audio players, embedded videos, custom content and post content within the same grid, using 14 item types in total.
Detailed grids automatically convert to simpler mobile versions with lighter images and touch-friendly sizes for phones and tablets.
The lightbox accepts shortcodes, HTML and JavaScript content, offers content or media focused modes, and includes touchSwipe, carousel and modal options.
Add as many attributes as you need to each item, such as author, release date or category, and display them with icons.
Build grids from existing WordPress posts, WooCommerce products or Media Library images so you can reuse content you already have.
Visitors can share single items on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and WhatsApp, and each lightbox item gets its own HTML5 URL.

Questions about Media Grid
Can I show videos and audio in the grid, or only photos?
You can show much more than photos. The plugin supports 14 item types, including images, sliders, audio players, embedded videos, custom content and post content, and you can mix them within a single grid.
How does the portfolio look on phones?
Layouts are responsive, and on smaller screens the plugin automatically switches complex grids to simpler versions. These mobile layouts use lighter images and touch-friendly item sizes so they are easier to browse on smartphones and tablets.
Can I build a grid from my existing posts or WooCommerce products?
Yes. Grids can pull content from WordPress posts, WooCommerce products or images in your Media Library, so you can display existing content without recreating it item by item.
Do I have to place every item by hand?
No. Manual Mode lets you control each element if you want that, but Dynamic Mode generates grids for you with pagination, shuffled items and repeated layout structures.
Is Media Grid free?
The code of Media Grid is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of Media Grid is this?
Version 9.6.1, released Jun 9, 2026. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update Media Grid?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Media Grid automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
