Object Cache Pro
Object Cache Pro by Rhubarb Group is a WordPress plugin that connects your site to Redis as a persistent object cache backend. It stores the results of repeated database queries in Redis so WordPress can fetch them from memory instead of asking the database again.

What it does
Every WordPress page load runs database queries, and many of them repeat the same work. On busy sites, stores and membership sites, that repetition adds load to the database server. A persistent object cache keeps those results in Redis between requests. This plugin follows the WordPress Object Cache API, so core and plugins that use the standard caching functions work with it without special handling. It has been tested with WooCommerce, where dynamic carts and product data make caching harder to get right.
Under the hood, the plugin batches Redis commands, prefetches cache data and can compress stored values with LZF, LZ4 or Zstandard to save memory and network traffic. It supports TLS connections to Redis, runs health checks you can view in the dashboard or through WP CLI, and offers opt-in logging with PSR-3 loggers. It works on multisite networks, can run as a must-use plugin, and adds panels for Query Monitor and Debug Bar so developers can inspect cache behavior.
Best for
- WooCommerce stores with heavy, dynamic database traffic
- Developers and agencies running WordPress on Redis
- Multisite networks and high-traffic membership sites

'host' => '127.0.0.1',
'port' => 6379,
'database' => 0, // change for each site
'maxttl' => 3600 * 24 * 7, // 7 days
'timeout' => 1.0,
'read_timeout' => 1.0,
'split_alloptions' => true,
'debug' => false,
]);
define('WP_REDIS_DISABLED', false);Features
Combines Redis commands into batches and prefetches cache data, which reduces the number of round trips between WordPress and the Redis server.
Follows the WordPress Object Cache API, so WordPress core and plugins built on the standard caching functions work with it as expected.
Compresses cached values with LZF, LZ4 or Zstandard to cut Redis memory use and reduce the amount of data sent over the network.
Connects to Redis over encrypted TLS and reports connection health in the WordPress dashboard, Site Health and WP CLI.
Offers opt-in error reporting with support for PSR-3 loggers, plus Query Monitor and Debug Bar panels for inspecting cache status.
Flushes the cache asynchronously and can warm it ahead of time, so the database is not hit all at once after a flush.
Works across WordPress multisite networks and can be deployed as a must-use plugin so it always loads with the site.
Includes WP CLI commands for checking status and watching cache metrics from the command line on your server.

Questions about Object Cache Pro
Do I need a Redis server to use this plugin?
Yes. The plugin is a Redis object cache backend, so it needs a Redis server it can connect to. It stores WordPress cache data in Redis and can connect over TLS for encrypted communication.
Will it work with WooCommerce?
It has been extensively tested for WooCommerce compatibility and handles caching for dynamic store content. Because it follows the WordPress Object Cache API, other plugins using standard caching functions, such as Jetpack and Yoast SEO, also work with it.
Can I use Object Cache Pro on a multisite network?
Yes. It supports WordPress multisite networks and can be deployed as a must-use plugin, which means it loads on every site in the network without being switched on individually.
How can I see whether the cache is working?
You can check health and metrics in the WordPress dashboard widget, Site Health and WP CLI. Developers also get Query Monitor and Debug Bar panels, and opt-in logging works with PSR-3 loggers.
Is Object Cache Pro free?
The code of Object Cache Pro is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of Object Cache Pro is this?
Version 1.25.7, released Oct 15, 2026. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update Object Cache Pro?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Object Cache Pro automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
