Latest
- SecuritySecurity release – PeepSo: SQL injection fix (discovered by Yukusawa18 via Patchstack)
- NewPeepSo: Bundled translations now load as a fallback layer, with regional locale fallback
- ImprovedPeepSo: Hot ranking: slower decay, so engagement still counts in the short windows
- ImprovedPeepSo: Stream sort labels reworded to Today / One week / One month / One year / All time
- ImprovedMedia: Title should be optional for video/audio uploads/links
- SecurityPeepSo: delete_post() could wipe every module-1 activity; WP Adverts ad deletion triggered it. Photos and WP Event Manager hardened against the same path
- ImprovedMedia: YouTube embeds lost title and description; existing posts self-heal on view
- ImprovedWPEM: Leaving an RSVP never removed its activity row
What it does
A social network built on PeepSo handles text posts and conversations well, but many communities also want members to share recordings and video. This plugin adds that ability inside the existing PeepSo experience. Members upload audio clips and videos or post embedded media such as YouTube links, and everything plays directly in activity streams and on profiles. Titles are optional for uploads and links, so posting a quick clip takes little effort, and other members can reply in the comments the same way they would on any other post.
The media fits into the rest of a PeepSo site, including groups, hashtags, chat and notifications, so audio and video posts follow the same social flow as everything else. Members choose who can see what they share through privacy controls, and administrators have moderation options to keep uploads in line with community standards. It suits social networks, membership sites and course communities, and it works alongside LearnDash and TutorLMS for adding audiovisual material to online learning. Media sharing also works on mobile devices and with the PeepSo React Native mobile app.
