What it does
By default, Paid Memberships Pro grants access as soon as someone signs up. That works for many sites, but a professional association, private club or vetted community often needs a person to check each applicant first. This add-on puts a manual approval step between registration and access, so new members land in a pending queue and only reach protected content once you approve them. It also helps you keep spam registrations out of member areas.
Approval works per membership level, so you can require review for selected tiers and let other levels keep instant access. Pending, approved and denied requests are managed from the WordPress dashboard, where you can view, filter and search applications. Automatic emails go to administrators when a request comes in and to applicants when they are approved or denied, and members can see their current approval status. You can adjust status messages and notifications to suit your organization's criteria and tone.

Do I need Paid Memberships Pro to use this?
Yes. This is an add-on for Paid Memberships Pro and works with your existing membership setup. It adds an approval step to the sign-up process that Paid Memberships Pro already handles on your site.
Can I require approval on some membership levels but not others?
Yes. Approval is set per membership level, so you can ask for manual review on selected tiers while members joining other levels get access right away, just as they would without the add-on.
Will applicants know their application is being reviewed?
