What it does
UK charities and nonprofits can reclaim tax on eligible donations through Gift Aid, but only when the supporter has made a declaration. Collecting and tracking those declarations by hand is tedious and easy to get wrong. This add on builds the step into your Paid Memberships Pro checkout, so supporters see a Gift Aid option at the moment they join or give. Gift Aid can add 25% to eligible donations, and the add on helps you capture the opt-ins you need to claim it.
Once enabled, a Gift Aid checkbox and message appear during checkout. You can adjust the wording to suit your organization and explain the benefit clearly. Each declaration is stored against the related membership or donation, and you can review Gift Aid statuses inside your Paid Memberships Pro membership and payment screens. It handles both one-time and recurring payments, and it keeps a member's opt-in intact when an offsite gateway such as PayPal Standard completes the checkout.
