What it does
BuddyPress gives you a social network out of the box, but its standard registration, profile editing and member listing screens offer limited room to change fields and layouts. This add-on lets Profile Builder take over those screens. Registration and profile edit forms become Profile Builder forms with its wider range of field types, and individual profile views become editable Single User Listing templates. You manage all of it from the WordPress dashboard, and there is no need to touch BuddyPress template files.
The add-on requires the Profile Builder plugin and is aimed at sites that already run BuddyPress or plan to. If your community already has member data, you can import existing BuddyPress user fields and entries so you keep what members have entered. Members can also set visibility for individual fields, which helps them decide who sees each piece of their profile.
