What it does
Storefront gives a WooCommerce shop a clean base, but its blog settings are limited. Store owners who publish articles alongside their products often want the blog to look different from the default single column with a sidebar. This plugin fills that gap by adding options for post meta placement, magazine-style grid layouts and full-width pages. Each option sits inside the WordPress Customizer, so you can try a change, see it in the live preview and keep it only if it suits your site.
The plugin is designed only for the Storefront theme, so its blog layouts follow the theme's existing grid. You can move categories, tags and author details to the left, right, above or below the content, switch between classic and magazine layouts, and remove sidebars on archives and single posts. It can also place a grid of recent posts on your homepage in one, two or three columns. It keeps working alongside the standard WooCommerce shop pages.
Best for
- WooCommerce stores using the Storefront theme
- Shop owners who publish regular blog content
- Magazine-style sites built on Storefront
Features
Position categories, tags and author info to the left, right, above or below the post content to set the visual order of your blog posts.
Pick a classic blog layout or a magazine style with grid columns, which works well for blogs that cover many different topics.
Remove the sidebar on blog archive pages so post listings take up the whole content area of the page.
Turn off the sidebar on individual posts to give longer articles more room and keep the reader's focus on the text.
Add a block of recent blog posts to your homepage, displayed in a one, two or three column grid.
Every setting lives in the WordPress Customizer, where you can preview layout changes instantly before publishing them.
Blog elements line up with the Storefront theme's grid system, so the blog matches the rest of your store's layout.
Questions about Storefront Blog Customiser
Will this work with any WordPress theme?
No. The plugin is designed exclusively for the Storefront theme. Its settings tie into Storefront's layout and grid system, so you need Storefront (or a site built on it) active to use the blog layout options.
Do I need to write CSS or code to change my blog layout?
No coding is needed. All of the options appear in the WordPress Customizer, where you choose layouts, meta positions and sidebar settings from controls and see the result in a live preview.
Can I show my latest blog posts on the homepage?
Yes. The plugin includes a homepage blog component that displays your recent posts in a grid. You can set it to one, two or three columns depending on how much space you want it to take.
Can I remove the sidebar from blog pages only?
Yes. You can choose full-width layouts for blog archive pages and for single posts, which removes the sidebar on those pages so your content fills the full width.
Is Storefront Blog Customiser free?
The code of Storefront Blog Customiser is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of Storefront Blog Customiser is this?
Version 1.3.0, released Feb 5, 2019. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update Storefront Blog Customiser?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Storefront Blog Customiser automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
