What it does
The default WordPress search reloads the page and returns a plain list that can be hard to scan. This plugin sends searches through asynchronous requests, so results show up in real time while the visitor is still typing. It can search posts, pages and custom post types, and visitors can narrow results by categories, tags, custom fields and post type. Keyword highlighting, typo correction and search term weighting help push the most relevant matches toward the top.
Setup happens in an admin panel that lets you configure search bars and results without writing code. You can pick from several search bar styles and placements, then display results as a grid, a list or a dropdown depending on how your site is structured. The output is responsive and retina ready for different screen sizes.
