Fixed Period Membership
This add-on for the Paid Member Subscriptions plugin is made by Paid Member Subscriptions. It lets you set a fixed calendar date when a membership plan ends, so every member's access stops on the same day no matter when they signed up.

What’s new in Fixed Period Membership 1.0.1
What it does
Most membership plans run from the day a person subscribes, which means each member ends up with a different expiration date. That gets messy when your content or service follows a calendar, such as a season, an academic year or an annual event. This add-on solves that by letting a plan conclude on a predetermined date. Someone who joins in March and someone who joins in August both lose access on the same day, so you can plan around one clear timeline.
It works inside the Paid Member Subscriptions plugin, which it requires, and you configure it from your WordPress dashboard without changing your existing membership setup. Fixed end dates can apply to one-time payment plans and to recurring subscriptions. If you want members to continue, the "Allow plan to be renewed" setting lets them renew for another year. Members always know how long their access lasts, and you spend less time answering questions about when a subscription runs out.
Best for
- Clubs and associations with annual membership seasons
- Course sites following an academic year
- Event-based or seasonal subscription services
Features
Subscriptions end automatically on a date you choose, regardless of when each user subscribed, so all members share a uniform membership period.
Apply fixed period expirations to one-time payment plans as well as recurring subscriptions, so the same approach fits different ways of charging members.
Turn on the "Allow plan to be renewed" setting and members can renew their subscription for an additional year once the fixed period ends.
Built for the Paid Member Subscriptions plugin and set up without disturbing the membership configurations you already have in place.
Every plan follows a known schedule, which makes administration simpler and cuts down on member questions about how long their access lasts.
Settings live in your WordPress dashboard, so site admins without a technical background can configure fixed period plans.
Questions about Fixed Period Membership
Do I need another plugin for this to work?
Yes. This is an add-on for the Paid Member Subscriptions plugin, so that plugin needs to be active on your site. The add-on extends its membership plans with fixed calendar end dates.
What happens if a member joins halfway through the period?
Their access still ends on the fixed date you set for the plan. The end date does not depend on when a user subscribes, so late joiners and early joiners expire on the same day.
Can I use fixed end dates with recurring subscriptions?
Yes. Fixed period expirations can be applied to both one-time payment plans and recurring subscriptions, so you can use the approach with whichever billing model your plans already use.
Can members continue after the fixed date passes?
If you enable the "Allow plan to be renewed" setting, members can renew their subscription for an additional year. Without it, access simply ends on the date you chose.
Is Fixed Period Membership free?
The code of Fixed Period Membership is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of Fixed Period Membership is this?
Version 1.0.1, released Jun 7, 2020. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update Fixed Period Membership?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Fixed Period Membership automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
What does Fixed Period Membership need?
Fixed Period Membership needs Paid Member Subscriptions installed and active.
