What it does
Taking payments on a WordPress site often means stitching together a form tool, a checkout system and a separate place to review transactions. Formidable Stripe keeps that work inside Formidable Forms. You design a form the way you already do, add payment fields, and Stripe handles the card processing. The same form can collect the details you need from a donor or customer along with the payment itself, so there is no need for custom code to tie the pieces together.
The plugin suits nonprofits collecting donations, services billing on a recurring basis, and sites selling products with one-time purchases. Because it works with Formidable Forms conditional logic, you can show or hide payment fields based on what a visitor enters. Payment and donation reports appear in your WordPress dashboard, email notifications keep customers and admins informed, and developers can use hooks and programmatic access to payment data to build custom workflows.
Best for
- Nonprofits collecting online donations through forms
- Subscription services billing customers on a recurring basis
- Small online stores already using Formidable Forms

Questions about Formidable Stripe
Do I need Formidable Forms to use this?
Yes. This is an add-on for Formidable Forms, so it requires that plugin. You build your forms in Formidable Forms and the add-on adds Stripe payment processing to them, along with reporting and email notifications.
Can I take recurring payments as well as one-time payments?
Yes. The plugin supports subscription payments alongside one-time purchases and donations. That means a single setup can cover a monthly service plan, a product sale and a donation form, all processed through Stripe.
Where can I see the payments people make?
Detailed payment and donation reports are available inside your WordPress dashboard. You can track and manage transactions there, and automatic email notifications can alert admins and send receipts to customers when a payment completes.
Can I accept currencies other than US dollars?
Yes. The plugin supports accepting payments in the multiple currencies that Stripe supports, which is helpful if your audience is spread across different countries.
Is Formidable Stripe free?
The code of Formidable Stripe is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of Formidable Stripe is this?
Version 3.2, released Sep 17, 2026. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update Formidable Stripe?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Formidable Stripe automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
What does Formidable Stripe need?
Formidable Stripe needs Formidable Forms installed and active.
