What it does
If you build forms with Gravity Forms, placing them in content used to mean copying shortcodes into the editor. This add-on replaces that step with a block. You insert the block, pick a form, adjust its settings and see a live preview of how it will look on the page. Existing Gravity Forms shortcodes are converted into blocks automatically, with their settings kept, so older content keeps working while you move from the classic editor to the block editor.
The block also carries conditional logic for the form itself. You can show or hide a form based on whether a visitor is logged in, what user role they have or the current time. Combined with reusable blocks, you can set up one form block with its rules and place it across many pages without configuring it again each time. The add-on is built by the Gravity Forms team, and its roadmap mentions more blocks, such as login forms and polls.
Best for
- Sites already using Gravity Forms with the block editor
- Sites moving older shortcode content to blocks
- Sites showing forms only to logged-in users or roles
Features
Embed any Gravity Forms form directly inside the block editor, so you no longer need to paste or manage shortcodes by hand.
See how the form will appear while you change its settings in the editor, which helps you check the layout before you publish.
Show or hide a form depending on whether the visitor is logged in, so different audiences see the forms meant for them.
Target forms to specific user roles or limit them to certain times, giving you context-aware forms without extra plugins or code.
Existing Gravity Forms shortcodes are turned into blocks automatically, and their settings are preserved so older posts and pages keep working.
Pair the form block and its conditional logic with reusable blocks to build one form setup and place it across your site.
Helps sites that relied on the classic editor switch to the block editor while keeping their forms in place.
Questions about Gravity Forms Gutenberg
Do I still need shortcodes to add forms to my pages?
No. The add-on gives you a dedicated block in the block editor. You insert it, choose one of your Gravity Forms forms and adjust its settings there, with a live preview of the result.
What happens to the shortcodes already in my posts?
Existing Gravity Forms shortcodes are converted into blocks automatically. Their settings are preserved, so forms you placed earlier continue to work after you start editing with the block editor.
Can I show a form only to certain visitors?
Yes. The block includes conditional logic that shows or hides a form based on login status, user role or the current time. This lets you present forms only to the people or periods they are meant for.
Does this replace Gravity Forms itself?
No. It is an add-on that brings Gravity Forms into the block editor. You build your forms in Gravity Forms and use this block to place and control them in posts and pages.
