What it does
Collecting email addresses through a form and then copying them into a mailing tool by hand is slow and easy to get wrong. This add-on removes that step. You set up a feed on a form, pick one or more MailPoet lists, map form fields to subscriber details and decide when a submission should create a subscriber. Opt-in checkboxes let visitors give consent before they are added, which helps with privacy rules such as GDPR.
The add-on works through the public MailPoet API to subscribe people and keep subscriber records in sync. Feed settings cover list selection, field mapping, tags, MailPoet email options and conditional logic, so you can add people only when certain answers are given. Tags from a feed are merged with any tags an existing subscriber already has. Feeds can also be processed in the background and delayed until a payment is completed, which suits order and registration forms.
Best for
- Bloggers growing a newsletter list from site forms
- Marketers segmenting MailPoet subscribers by form answers
- Sites selling or registering through Gravity Forms payment forms
Features
Form submissions are added to the MailPoet lists you select, so new contacts reach your mailing lists without manual copying or exporting.
Connect a single form to more than one MailPoet list, which lets you sort subscribers into different groups for separate email campaigns.
Match form fields to MailPoet subscriber details in the feed settings, so names, email addresses and other answers land in the right place.
Apply tags to subscribers from a feed. When an existing subscriber is updated, the new tags are merged with the tags already on their record.
Add opt-in checkboxes to your forms so visitors agree before they are subscribed, which helps you manage consent under GDPR and similar rules.
Use Gravity Forms conditional logic to decide when a submission should add someone to a list, based on the answers they give.
Feeds can wait until a payment is completed, and processing can run in the background so form submissions are not held up.
Questions about Gravity Forms MailPoet Add-On
Can one form add people to more than one MailPoet list?
Yes. A single form can be connected to multiple MailPoet lists, and you choose which lists apply in the feed settings. This makes it easy to place subscribers into different segments from the same form.
Will it only subscribe people who agree to receive emails?
You can add opt-in checkboxes to your forms so visitors give consent before being subscribed. Combined with conditional logic, you can set the feed to run only when the consent box is checked.
What happens if someone who is already a subscriber fills out the form again?
The add-on syncs with existing MailPoet subscriber records. Tags set in the feed are merged with the tags the subscriber already has, so their earlier tags are kept rather than replaced.
Does it work with forms that take payments?
Yes. The add-on supports delayed payment, so the feed can wait until a payment is completed before adding the person to your MailPoet lists.
Is Gravity Forms MailPoet Add-On free?
The code of Gravity Forms MailPoet Add-On is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
