Gravity Forms n8n Add-On
Gravity Forms n8n Add-On is a WordPress plugin by Gravity Forms that passes form submissions to n8n, the open-source workflow automation platform. Each entry reaches your n8n workflows as it arrives, so the automation you already run can act on website form data right away.

What it does
Many sites end up with a separate WordPress integration for every service a form needs to reach: one for the CRM, one for email, another for a spreadsheet. This add-on replaces that pile with a single hand-off. A form submission goes to an n8n webhook, and your workflow decides where the data goes next. Because the logic lives in n8n, changing what happens to entries means editing the workflow, with no changes needed on your WordPress site.
Setup happens in the WordPress dashboard as a feed, alongside your other Gravity Forms feeds. You choose which forms connect, add conditional logic per feed, and pick JSON or form-encoded payloads. Delivery runs in the background so it never holds up the submission redirect, and failed sends are retried automatically. It works with both n8n Cloud and self-hosted instances, which suits teams that keep their automation under their own control.
Best for
- Teams already running n8n for internal automation
- Agencies building self-hosted automation for client sites
- Gravity Forms sites sending entries to many services
Features
Each connected form sends its submissions to an n8n webhook through a feed, working with n8n Cloud as well as self-hosted n8n instances.
Connect only the forms that should feed n8n, and use per-feed conditional logic to decide which entries get sent.
Entry data is sent as JSON by default or as form-encoded data, in a stable shape that n8n workflows can work with directly.
Submissions are processed asynchronously, so a slow webhook response does not block the visitor from reaching the redirect after submitting.
If a delivery fails, WP-Cron retries it with exponential backoff, and each attempt is logged as a note on the entry.
An n8n Delivery column in the entries list shows the status of each entry, so you can spot failed sends at a glance.
Resend one entry from its detail view, or select several entries and use the Resend to n8n bulk action.
The feed settings page includes a Send Test button for checking that your n8n webhook receives data before going live.
Questions about Gravity Forms n8n Add-On
Does this work with self-hosted n8n or only n8n Cloud?
It works with both. You point a feed at an n8n webhook, whether that webhook lives on n8n Cloud or on an instance you host yourself, which suits teams who want their automation to stay under their own control.
What happens if my n8n webhook is down when someone submits a form?
Delivery is retried automatically using WP-Cron with exponential backoff. Each attempt is recorded as an entry note, and the entries list shows a delivery status, so you can also resend a single entry or several at once.
Can I send only some forms or some entries to n8n?
Yes. You connect only the forms that should feed n8n and leave the rest untouched. Each feed also supports conditional logic, so you can limit sending to entries that match the rules you set.
What format does the submission data arrive in?
Entries are sent as JSON by default, with a form-encoded option available. The payload keeps a stable, n8n-friendly shape so your workflow can read the fields directly.
