What it does
Most membership sites sell access only to the person paying. That leaves out a common situation: someone who likes your content and wants to give access to another person for a birthday, a holiday or any other occasion. This add-on fills that gap by adding a gift purchase option to your existing MemberPress memberships, so buyers can pay for a membership on behalf of someone else and pass it along.
The plugin works inside your current MemberPress setup and keeps your membership rules, payments and content protection as they are. You can offer different membership levels or durations as gifts, and the recipient is sent a notification with their membership details automatically. Gifting can be switched on per membership with a checkbox, and the add-on records events when a gift is purchased and when it is claimed. It suits course platforms, premium content sites and communities that already run on MemberPress.
Best for
- Membership sites already running MemberPress
- Online course platforms offering gift access
- Premium content sites running holiday promotions

Questions about Memberpress Gifting
Do I need MemberPress to use this plugin?
Yes. This is an add-on for MemberPress, built to work inside an existing MemberPress membership site. It adds gifting to the memberships you already have and keeps your current rules, payments and content protection.
Can I choose which memberships can be gifted?
Yes. Each membership has an enable gifting checkbox, so you can turn gifting on for the memberships you want to offer as gifts and leave it off for others. Buyers can then pick from the levels or durations you make available.
How does the gift recipient get access?
After a gift is purchased, the plugin automatically sends the recipient a gift notification with their membership details. The recipient then claims the gift, and the add-on records both the purchase and the claim as events.
Can a gift be a specific membership length?
Yes. You can offer multiple membership levels or durations as gift options, so a buyer can choose something like a shorter or longer membership depending on what you set up in MemberPress.
Is Memberpress Gifting free?
The code of Memberpress Gifting is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of Memberpress Gifting is this?
Version 1.2.0, released Sep 8, 2026. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update Memberpress Gifting?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Memberpress Gifting automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
