What’s new in Multiple Subscriptions Per User 1.1.4

Version 1.1.4 · Jun 7, 2020 Latest

What it does

A standard membership setup usually limits each user to one subscription plan. That works until you sell separate offerings, such as different courses or content categories, and a member wants more than one. Without a way to combine them, people end up with duplicate accounts or you end up bundling everything into awkward combined plans. This add-on solves that by letting a registered user keep memberships across several plan groups under one account.

You organize your subscription plans into distinct groups, sometimes called blocks, each with its own hierarchical levels. A school site might have a Math group and a Physics group. Members can subscribe to one plan per group, and plans in different groups do not conflict with each other. It runs inside Paid Member Subscriptions, so you manage groups, plans and member subscriptions from the same backend, and members see their active subscriptions in one organized view.

Best for

  • Educational sites selling separate courses or subjects
  • Online communities with distinct paid content areas
  • Sites offering bundles of separate premium services

Features

Subscription level groups

Sort your subscription plans into distinct groups, such as Math and Physics, so each area of your site has its own set of plans.

Hierarchical levels per group

Each group can hold its own tiers and levels, letting you set up structured access within one subject, course or content segment.

One plan per group

Members can subscribe to one plan in each subscription level group, which lets them hold several memberships at once without conflicts between plans.

Single account, many memberships

A registered user keeps all of their memberships under one account, so nobody needs a second login to access another offering.

Clear member view

Members get an organized view of their active subscriptions, which makes it easier for them to see what they have and handle renewals.

Admin management tools

Manage subscription groups, plans and user memberships from the backend, with an overview of who holds which subscriptions.

Questions about Multiple Subscriptions Per User

Does this work on its own or do I need another plugin?

It is an add-on for the Paid Member Subscriptions plugin, so you need Paid Member Subscriptions running on your site. The add-on works inside that plugin and extends its subscription plans with groups.

Can a member subscribe to two plans in the same group?

No. Members can subscribe to one plan per subscription level group. To let someone hold several memberships at once, place those plans in separate groups, for example one group for Math and another for Physics.

Will members need separate accounts for each subscription?

No. A registered user can hold memberships across several groups with a single account. They also get an organized view of their active subscriptions, which keeps management and renewals simple for them.

What kind of sites is this suited to?

It fits sites with segmented or specialty content, such as educational platforms offering different courses, online communities with separate paid areas, or businesses selling premium service bundles that members may want to combine.

Is Multiple Subscriptions Per User free?

The code of Multiple Subscriptions Per User is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.

Which version of Multiple Subscriptions Per User is this?

Version 1.1.4, released Jun 7, 2020. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.

How do I update Multiple Subscriptions Per User?
