What it does
Presenting creative work on a theme that has no portfolio feature usually means stitching together galleries and category pages by hand. This extension gives OceanWP its own portfolio system instead. You can place a portfolio on a dedicated page template or drop it anywhere with a shortcode, and there is block editor support for adding it inside regular content. Items can be pulled in by author, category or tag, sorted, and excluded when a project should stay out of a particular view.
Once the portfolio is in place, you control how it looks and behaves. A filter bar helps visitors move between categories, and you can show or hide it and adjust its position, styling and typography. Items take custom margins, padding, colors, overlay colors and image sizes. Images open in a PhotoSwipe lightbox, links and lightbox icons can be switched on or off, and projects can point to external URLs. Schema markup is built in and follows the OceanWP Schema Markup settings, and the plugin is translation ready.
Best for
- Photographers and designers running sites on the OceanWP theme
- Agencies presenting client projects by category
- Freelancers building an OceanWP portfolio website

Questions about Ocean Portfolio
Does this plugin work with any WordPress theme?
It is built as an extension for the OceanWP theme and requires OceanWP to be active. Its templates, styling options and schema settings are tied to OceanWP, so it is meant for sites already using that theme.
Can I show only certain projects on a page?
Yes. You can filter which portfolio items appear by author, category or tag, set the sort order, and exclude specific items. That lets you build different portfolio views on different pages, each placed with a page template or shortcode.
Can I turn off the lightbox or project links?
Yes. There are settings to enable or disable item links and lightbox icons, so you can decide whether visitors open images in the PhotoSwipe lightbox, follow a link to the project, or simply view the grid.
Can a portfolio item link to another website?
Yes. Each portfolio item can use an external URL, which is handy for linking a project to a live client site or a related resource. You can also set the link target for those external links.
Is Ocean Portfolio free?
The code of Ocean Portfolio is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of Ocean Portfolio is this?
Version 2.3.5, released Oct 6, 2026. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update Ocean Portfolio?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Ocean Portfolio automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
What does Ocean Portfolio need?
Ocean Portfolio needs OceanWP installed and active.
