What it does
Default WordPress permalink settings are fairly limited. You pick a general pattern, and individual URLs mostly follow it, with only the slug open to editing. This plugin removes that limit. Its URI editor lets you change each URL in full, beyond the slug, for posts, pages, categories, custom post types and taxonomies. You can also rearrange the overall permalink structure and apply the new pattern in bulk, with no need to modify core files.
Changing URLs on a live site can leave broken links behind, so the plugin includes automatic redirects from old addresses to updated ones, plus optional alias redirects. It fits stores, blogs and larger sites with custom content. WooCommerce users can remove base slugs such as /product/, multilingual sites running WPML or Polylang can set language-specific URLs, and custom field values from ACF, Pods, JetEngine or Toolset Types can be placed into permalinks.
Best for
- WooCommerce stores wanting product URLs without base slugs
- Multilingual sites running WPML or Polylang
- Sites with custom post types, taxonomies and custom fields
Features
Edit the complete URL of individual posts, pages, categories, custom post types and taxonomies, going beyond the slug that WordPress normally lets you change.
Rearrange your permalink patterns and bulk update the whole site so URLs follow a consistent format across all your content types.
Visitors who follow an old URL are redirected to the updated one, and you can add multiple alias redirects pointing to the same content.
Customize WooCommerce product and category URLs, including removing base slugs like /product/ to produce shorter, cleaner store links.
Add custom field values to permalinks without coding, with support for ACF, Pods, JetEngine and Toolset Types.
Works with WPML and Polylang so you can create separate, language-specific URLs for each translation on a multilingual site.
Manually adjust many URLs at once, which helps when certain permalinks need to differ from your global structure.
The plugin includes REST API support, giving developers a way to work with its permalink data programmatically.

Questions about Permalink Manager Pro
Can I change the whole URL of a post, or only the slug?
You can change the whole URL. The URI editor lets you edit each address in full for posts, pages, categories, custom post types and taxonomies, so you are not limited to the slug at the end of the link.
What happens to my old links after I change a URL?
The plugin automatically redirects visitors from old URLs to the updated ones, which helps prevent broken pages. You can also set up multiple alias redirects so several addresses lead to the same content.
Can I remove /product/ from my WooCommerce URLs?
Yes. The WooCommerce integration lets you customize product and category URLs, including removing base slugs such as /product/, so your store links are shorter and easier to read.
Does it work with ACF or multilingual plugins?
It can add custom field values to URLs from ACF, Pods, JetEngine and Toolset Types without coding. For multilingual sites it works with WPML and Polylang, letting you create language-specific URLs.
