What it does
Selling media one file at a time works for some creators, but many would rather offer ongoing access to a library of work. This addon adds that option to an existing Sell Media setup. You can create multiple subscription plans with your own pricing, bill subscribers automatically on a recurring basis, and decide which photos, videos and media files only paying members can view. It requires the Sell Media plugin, since it builds on that plugin's store features.
Because it works inside Sell Media, you manage plans and content from the same place you already sell your media, without custom code. Subscribers can upgrade, downgrade or cancel their plans, and you can review subscriber analytics covering subscription activity, revenue trends and user behavior. The subscription interface can be adjusted to match your branding, displays on mobile devices, and includes measures meant to protect your files from unauthorized access or sharing.
Best for
- Photographers selling photo libraries by subscription
- Videographers offering members-only video collections
- Digital artists already using the Sell Media plugin
Features
Multiple subscription plans
Create and manage several subscription plans, each with its own pricing, so you can offer different levels of access to different groups of customers.
Automatic recurring billing
Subscribers are billed automatically on a recurring schedule, which cuts down on the manual work of collecting payments for ongoing access.
Subscriber-only content
Control who can view your premium photos, videos and other media files, so the content you reserve for members stays with paying subscribers.
Plan changes for members
Subscribers can upgrade, downgrade or cancel their own plans, giving them flexibility while keeping membership management simple for you.
Subscriber analytics
Review subscription activity, revenue trends and user behavior to understand how your plans are performing and which offerings draw subscribers.
Branding options
Adjust the subscription interface to match your style, so plan pages and member areas look consistent with the rest of your site.
Protected content delivery
Built-in security measures help prevent unauthorized access to or sharing of your digital files, and the subscription content displays on mobile devices.
Questions about Sell Media Subscription Addon
Do I need the Sell Media plugin to use this addon?
Yes. This addon extends the Sell Media plugin and depends on it. It adds subscription plans, recurring billing and member-only access on top of the selling features Sell Media already provides, so Sell Media must be active on your site.
Can I offer more than one subscription plan?
Yes. You can create and manage multiple subscription plans with customizable pricing. That lets you set up different tiers for different audiences, and subscribers can move between plans by upgrading or downgrading, or cancel when they choose.
What kinds of files can I put behind a subscription?
The addon is built for photos, videos and other media files you sell through Sell Media. You control which of these items are available only to subscribers, and security measures help guard them against unauthorized access or sharing.
Can I see how my subscriptions are doing?
Yes. The addon includes subscriber analytics that show subscription activity, revenue trends and user behavior. You can use this information to judge which plans and content attract members and adjust your offerings.
Is Sell Media Subscription Addon free?
The code of Sell Media Subscription Addon is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of Sell Media Subscription Addon is this?
Version 1.0.3. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update Sell Media Subscription Addon?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Sell Media Subscription Addon automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
What does Sell Media Subscription Addon need?
Sell Media Subscription Addon needs Sell Media installed and active.
