What it does
A plain static banner can make the top of a homepage feel flat, and building animated sections by hand takes code. Slider Hero Pro gives you a visual way to assemble hero sliders using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript effects. You pick from more than 85 animation effects, add a background image or video, then layer headlines, captions and buttons on top. No coding is needed, so site owners and designers can put together a slider without touching templates.
The plugin works with any WordPress theme and offers dedicated blocks for Gutenberg and widgets for Elementor, so you can place a slider on the homepage, a landing page or anywhere else a block or widget fits. Video backgrounds can come from YouTube, Vimeo or your own uploads. Parallax and Ken Burns effects add depth and slow camera-style motion, a carousel mode handles multiple slides, and the layouts are responsive across desktops, tablets and phones.
Best for
- Businesses wanting animated homepage hero banners
- Marketers building landing pages with video backgrounds
- Designers and freelancers using Elementor or Gutenberg

Questions about Slider Hero Pro
Can I use a YouTube or Vimeo video as the slider background?
Yes. Slider Hero Pro supports video backgrounds from YouTube and Vimeo, and you can also upload your own video files. You can then add headlines, captions and buttons as text overlays on top of the video.
Does it work with Elementor and the block editor?
It does. The plugin provides dedicated widgets for Elementor and blocks for Gutenberg, so you can place a slider inside page layouts built with either editor. It is also described as compatible with any WordPress theme.
Do I need to know how to code to build a slider?
No coding is required. You create sliders through the plugin interface, choosing animation effects, backgrounds and text overlays visually, which makes it suitable for site owners without technical experience.
Will my sliders look right on phones and tablets?
The sliders are responsive and built to display on desktops, tablets and smartphones, so a hero section designed on a large screen adapts to smaller devices.
Is Slider Hero Pro free?
The code of Slider Hero Pro is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of Slider Hero Pro is this?
Version 9.2.6, released Aug 26, 2026. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update Slider Hero Pro?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Slider Hero Pro automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
