What it does
Taxonomies tend to get messy as a site grows. Duplicate tags pile up, categories drift out of date and custom taxonomies become hard to track. This plugin gives you one place to create, rename, merge and delete terms across posts, WooCommerce products and bbPress forums. Merging is handy when two tags mean the same thing, since you can fold them into a single destination term and keep your structure tidy.
Beyond cleanup, the plugin helps you put taxonomies to work on the front end. You can display tag clouds, show related posts based on shared terms and build term lists, with control over how terms appear in your content. While writing, automatic suggestions propose terms that match your content. Auto-linking turns keywords in your posts into links to their term archives, and per-post controls let you turn auto terms and auto links on or off for individual posts.
Best for
- Blogs and content sites with large or messy tag collections
- WooCommerce stores organizing product categories and tags
- bbPress communities that need tidy forum taxonomies

Questions about TaxoPress Pro
Does it work with custom taxonomies or only tags and categories?
It works with tags, categories and custom taxonomies. You can create, rename, merge and delete terms in any of them, and the plugin covers posts, WooCommerce products and bbPress forums.
Can I merge duplicate tags into one?
Yes. You can select several terms and merge them into a single destination term. If the destination term is one of the terms being merged, it is kept, which makes consolidating near-duplicate tags simple.
Can I stop auto-linking on specific posts?
Yes. Auto links have per-post status controls with overrides, so you can turn the feature off or adjust it for individual posts. You can also exclude certain terms from being auto-linked.
What can it display on the front end of my site?
It can display tag clouds, related posts based on shared terms and term lists. You can also customize how terms appear within your content using templates and display options.
Is TaxoPress Pro free?
The code of TaxoPress Pro is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of TaxoPress Pro is this?
Version 3.54.0, released Sep 22, 2026. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update TaxoPress Pro?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of TaxoPress Pro automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
