What it does
Many translation tools make you work through back-end screens full of strings with no context, so you rarely know how a sentence will look on the live page. This plugin takes a different route. You open your site, click on the text you want to change and type the translation in place. You can also browse as different users to reach content that only shows for logged-in visitors or specific roles, so dynamic areas get translated too. This edition works alongside the base TranslatePress Multilingual plugin, adding business features on top of it.
To speed up the first pass, you can run your site through DeepL, Google Translate or Microsoft Translator and then refine the results by hand. Translated slugs, titles, meta descriptions, social graph data and correct HTML lang attributes support multilingual SEO, and it works with popular SEO plugins. Translator accounts let team members or hired translators work without backend access, and you can hold back a language until it is ready to publish. Translations are stored on your own site.

Questions about TranslatePress
Do I need another plugin for this to work?
Yes. This Business edition builds on the TranslatePress Multilingual plugin, which needs to be on your site as well. The Business features, such as translator accounts, SEO options and automatic translation services, extend that base plugin.
Can it translate my WooCommerce products and page builder layouts?
It supports WooCommerce stores, complex themes, custom post types, shortcodes and page builder content. Because you translate from the front end, you work on these pages as they appear to shoppers and visitors.
Will automatic translation replace my own edits?
Automatic translation through DeepL, Google Translate or Microsoft Translator gives you a starting draft. You can then open any string on the front end and refine it by hand until it reads the way you want.
How many languages can I add?
You can add as many languages as you need, from a list of more than 130. Editorial controls let you keep a language unpublished until its content is fully translated.
Is TranslatePress free?
The code of TranslatePress is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of TranslatePress is this?
Version 1.8.8, released Oct 14, 2026. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update TranslatePress?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of TranslatePress automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
What does TranslatePress need?
TranslatePress needs TranslatePress installed and active.
