Version 1.2.12
Latest
- FixedNew follow email not sent when notification preference is enabled - FIXED
What it does
Many sites that run user profiles give members a place to present themselves but no simple way to connect with one another. This add-on fills that gap with a follow model similar to Twitter. A member visits another profile, clicks to follow, and the relationship is recorded. It suits community sites, directories and any project where people benefit from keeping track of other members they find interesting or useful.
The add-on works with the core UsersWP plugin and needs very little configuration. Once it is active, two tabs appear on every profile: Followers lists the people following that member, and Following lists the people they follow. Members can also receive an email when someone new follows them, provided they have that notification preference turned on. The plugin is fully translatable, so you can present it in the language your audience uses.
Best for
- Community websites built on UsersWP
- Online directories with public member profiles
- Niche social sites where members connect with each other

Questions about UsersWP Followers
Does this plugin work on its own?
No. It is an add-on for the core UsersWP plugin and adds its follow features to the user profiles that UsersWP creates. You need UsersWP running on your site for the Followers and Following tabs to appear.
Where do followers and followed users show up?
The add-on places two tabs directly on each user profile. The Followers tab lists people who follow that member, and the Following tab lists the members they follow, giving visitors a clear view of each person's connections.
Will members know when someone follows them?
Yes, if they choose to. Members who have the relevant notification preference enabled receive an email when they gain a new follower, so they can check out the person who connected with them.
Is UsersWP Followers free?
The code of UsersWP Followers is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of UsersWP Followers is this?
Version 1.2.12, released Apr 30, 2026. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update UsersWP Followers?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of UsersWP Followers automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
What does UsersWP Followers need?
UsersWP Followers needs UsersWP installed and active.
