What it does

Opening the WordPress dashboard to every contributor creates extra work and security concerns, especially on guest posting or community sites. This add-on moves content submission to the front end instead. You place a submission form on any page with a shortcode or block, and registered users or guests can send in standard blog posts or custom post types from there. Registered users can also return later and edit their submitted posts without touching the backend.

Moderation stays in your hands. You choose the default status for new submissions (pending, draft or published), review what comes in, and the admin posts menu shows a count of pending posts. Guests can submit by entering a name and email, which creates a user account automatically so the post has an author. Separate email notifications keep users and admins informed, reCAPTCHA helps block spam, and every setting lives in the UsersWP interface. The plugin requires UsersWP and is fully translatable.

Best for

  • Multi-author blogs that want contributors kept out of the dashboard
  • Guest posting sites accepting submissions from new writers
  • Community sites built on UsersWP collecting user-generated content

Features

Shortcode or block form

Add a customizable post submission form to any page using a shortcode or a block, so users can submit content without visiting the WordPress dashboard.

Posts and custom post types

Accept standard blog posts as well as any custom post types, which suits sites that collect several different kinds of user content.

Guest submissions with accounts

Guests submit by providing a name and email, and the plugin automatically creates a new user account and assigns the post to it.

Default post status control

Set new submissions to pending, draft or published by default, then review and moderate content before or after it goes live.

Frontend post editing

Registered users can edit the posts they have submitted directly from the front end, giving them control over their own content.

Separate email notifications

Customize distinct email notifications for users and for administrators, keeping both sides informed about submission status and changes.

Spam protection with reCAPTCHA

Turn on reCAPTCHA for the submission form to help block spam and automated bot submissions from reaching your moderation queue.

Pending count in admin menu

The admin posts menu displays how many submissions are waiting as pending, so you can see at a glance when review is needed.

Questions about UsersWP Frontend Post

Can people submit posts without having an account?

Yes. You can enable guest submissions, where visitors provide a name and email with their post. The plugin then creates a new user account automatically and assigns the submitted post to that account, so every post has an author.

Do submitted posts go live right away?

That depends on your settings. You choose the default post status for submissions: pending, draft or published. Setting it to pending lets you review each post first, and the admin posts menu shows how many pending posts are waiting.

Does it work with custom post types?

Yes. The submission form supports standard blog posts and any custom post types on your site, so you can collect listings, articles or other content types through the front end.

What do I need to run this add-on?

It is an add-on for UsersWP, so you need the UsersWP plugin on your site. All frontend post settings, such as guest submissions, custom messages and captcha, are managed from the UsersWP interface.

Is UsersWP Frontend Post free?

The code of UsersWP Frontend Post is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.

Which version of UsersWP Frontend Post is this?

Version 1.3.5, released Jun 26, 2025. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.

How do I update UsersWP Frontend Post?

Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of UsersWP Frontend Post automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.

What does UsersWP Frontend Post need?

UsersWP Frontend Post needs UsersWP installed and active.
