What it does
By default, a WordPress sidebar shows the same widgets on every page to every visitor. That gets limiting when you want a promo on certain pages only, different content for mobile users, or a notice that runs for a set date range. This plugin adds visibility rules right into each widget, so you can target pages, post types, taxonomies, terms, devices, user roles, days, dates and specific URLs, including wildcard matches, without writing code.
It works with both Classic Widgets and Gutenberg blocks, and it supports page builders such as Elementor and SiteOrigin. Beyond visibility, it handles layout and upkeep: responsive columns inside a single sidebar, sticky widgets, entrance animations, custom IDs and classes, and links on whole widgets. For housekeeping, you can clone and move widgets, search widgets and sidebars in the admin, import and export widgets, and back up individual widget areas. Developers who need finer control can use built-in PHP conditional logic.
Best for
- Blogs and content sites needing page-specific sidebars
- Sites showing different widgets to logged-in users and guests
- Agencies managing and migrating widget setups across client sites
Features
Show or hide widgets on specific pages, post types, taxonomies or term archives using checkbox controls, so sidebars match the content being viewed.
Tailor widgets for mobile, tablet or desktop visitors, and restrict them by user role to show different content to guests and logged-in users.
Set widgets to appear only on chosen days or within a date range, which suits limited-time offers and announcements.
Control where a widget appears using exact URLs or wildcard patterns for flexible targeting across groups of pages.
Apply PHP conditionals for granular display control directly in the widget settings, without adding a separate Widget Logic plugin.
Arrange widgets in responsive columns within one sidebar, make widgets stick while visitors scroll, and add entrance animations on page load or scroll.
Customize widget appearance, set alignment per device, hide titles, add custom IDs and classes, and link a whole widget to any URL with new tab or nofollow options.
Clone and move widgets between sidebars, search widgets in the admin, import and export widgets, back up widget areas, and place widgets or sidebars with shortcodes.

Questions about Widget Options
Does it work with Gutenberg blocks or only classic widgets?
It supports both. You can apply visibility rules and other options to Classic Widgets as well as Gutenberg block widgets, so it fits sites using either the legacy widget screen or the block-based widget editor.
Can I show a widget only on mobile devices?
Yes. Device visibility options let you show or hide each widget on mobile, tablet and desktop. You can also set content alignment per device so the widget presents well on each screen size.
Can I use it with Elementor?
Yes. It supports page builders including Elementor and SiteOrigin, so you can manage widgets within your layouts. Shortcodes also let you place individual widgets or entire sidebar areas anywhere on your site.
Can I move my widget setup to another site?
Yes. The widget importer and exporter lets you back up widgets and migrate them between sites. You can also back up and restore individual widget areas, which helps when you only need to change one sidebar.
Is Widget Options free?
The code of Widget Options is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of Widget Options is this?
Version 5.3.4, released May 7, 2026. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update Widget Options?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Widget Options automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
