What it does
Keeping site permissions and marketing data in step usually means editing a user's role in WordPress and then remembering to update their tags in the CRM, or the other way around. This addon removes that double handling. You decide how each role relates to your CRM tags, and the plugin applies or removes tags as roles change. It also works in reverse when you set it up that way, so a tag change in the CRM can update a user's role on your site.
Setup offers two approaches. You can have a user role simply apply tags, which is a one-way connection from WordPress to the CRM. Or you can set a linked tag, which makes the connection between the tag and the role work in both directions. Everything is configured through settings with no code required. It fits sites that already run WP Fusion and want roles to drive content access, segmentation or automations, and it also handles multiple roles per user when used with User Role Editor.
Best for
- Sites already using WP Fusion with a connected CRM
- Membership sites that grant access based on user roles
- Marketers who segment CRM contacts by site role
Features
Assign CRM tags to a user role so that when a user gains or loses that role, the matching tags are added or removed in your CRM.
Set a linked tag to connect a tag and a role in both directions, so changes on either side update the other automatically.
When tags change on a contact in your CRM, the corresponding WordPress role on that user's account can be updated to match.
Pick the sync direction that suits each role, giving you control over whether roles only send tags or also respond to them.
Configure the role and tag connections through settings, so marketers and site owners can manage access without writing any code.
Works with User Role Editor setups where a user holds more than one role, applying the right tags for each role assigned.
Use synced roles and tags to control who reaches specific content and to build CRM segments for targeted email campaigns.
Questions about WP Fusion - User Roles Addon
Does this plugin work on its own?
No. It is an addon for WP Fusion, so it extends WP Fusion's connection between your WordPress site and your CRM. WooCommerce is also listed as a requirement for this addon, so plan for both to be in place.
Can a tag in my CRM change someone's role on my site?
Yes, if you set up a linked tag. A linked tag makes the connection between the tag and the role bidirectional, so adding or removing that tag in your CRM can update the user's role in WordPress.
What if I only want roles to send tags to my CRM?
You can configure a role to simply apply tags. In that one-way setup, role changes on your site add or remove tags in the CRM, while tag changes in the CRM do not alter roles.
Does it handle users with more than one role?
Yes. It includes multi-role support for User Role Editor, so users who hold several roles at once can have tags applied according to each of their roles.
Is WP Fusion - User Roles Addon free?
The code of WP Fusion - User Roles Addon is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of WP Fusion - User Roles Addon is this?
Version 1.2.2, released Apr 29, 2025. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.

What does WP Fusion - User Roles Addon need?
