What it does
If you run ads on a WordPress site, you need to know which placements people see and which ones they click. This add-on extends Advanced Ads with tracking for every impression and click, then works out the click-through rate for each ad unit. That makes it easier to spot weak ads, report results to advertisers and decide where your ad space is best used. You can also send the data to Google Analytics if you want to look at ad results next to the rest of your site traffic.
Beyond the numbers, the plugin gives you practical controls over how ads run. You can cap views or clicks, spread impressions evenly over a period of time, and leave out specific user roles so your own visits do not skew the stats. Tracked links can be cloaked behind short URLs, marked as nofollow or sponsored automatically, and set to open in a new tab. Tracking uses AJAX calls, and your statistics can be imported or exported as CSV files.
Best for
- Publishers and bloggers selling ad space directly
- Agencies reporting ad results to clients
- Sites already running ads with Advanced Ads

Questions about Ad Tracking
Do I need the main Advanced Ads plugin?
Yes. Ad Tracking is an add-on for Advanced Ads, so the core plugin must be active on your site. The add-on then adds impression and click tracking, reports and the delivery controls to the ads you manage there.
Can I share ad performance with my advertisers?
You can. The plugin generates detailed reports that can be sent by email, and you can also export statistics as CSV files. That makes it straightforward to keep clients or teams updated on how their ads are doing.
Will my own visits be counted in the stats?
Not if you exclude them. You can choose specific user roles to leave out of tracking, which filters internal or test traffic such as admins and editors so the numbers reflect real visitors.
Can I stop an ad after a certain number of clicks?
Yes. You can set limits on impressions or clicks for an ad, and you can also spread those impressions and clicks evenly over time so a campaign does not use up its budget too early.
Is Ad Tracking free?
The code of Ad Tracking is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.
Which version of Ad Tracking is this?
Version 3.0.13, released Jun 8, 2026. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.
How do I update Ad Tracking?
Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Ad Tracking automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.
What does Ad Tracking need?
Ad Tracking needs Advanced Ads installed and active.
