What it does

Regular ad units scroll out of view as soon as a reader moves down the page, so many of them are seen only briefly. This add-on solves that by holding ads in a fixed position in the browser window. You can place them at the top, bottom, left or right of the screen, or in header and footer positions, and they stay put while the page content moves underneath. It works as an extension of the Advanced Ads plugin, which needs to be on your site first.

Once it is active, you set up sticky placements and decide how each one behaves. Ads can fade or slide in, appear after a time delay you choose and be centered vertically or horizontally. A close button lets visitors dismiss an ad temporarily, and a custom background color can frame the ad bar to match your design. It works alongside Google AdSense, with guidelines for keeping placements compliant, and is built to display on desktops and phones.

Best for

  • Bloggers who earn income from display ads
  • Publishers running Google AdSense on content sites
  • Agencies managing ad placements for client websites

Features

Fixed and anchor placements

Keep ads fixed on screen or anchored to the edges of the browser window so they stay in view while visitors scroll through your content.

Multiple position choices

Place sticky ads at the top, bottom, left or right of the screen, along with header and footer positions, depending on your layout.

Fade and slide effects

Bring ads onto the screen with fade-in, slide-in and other animation styles instead of having them appear abruptly.

Optional close buttons

Add a close button so visitors can temporarily dismiss a sticky ad, giving them some control over what stays on their screen.

Delayed display timing

Set a specific time delay before a sticky ad appears, so it shows up after a visitor has spent some time on the page.

Background color bars

Wrap sticky ads in a bar with a custom background color that matches your branding and separates the ad from surrounding content.

Vertical and horizontal centering

Center sticky ads vertically or horizontally within the viewport for a neat, aligned presentation on the page.

Works with Google AdSense

Use sticky placements with Google AdSense ads, following the included guidelines so ads stay compliant and do not block navigation or content.

Questions about Sticky Ads

Do I need another plugin for this to work?

Yes. This is an add-on for the Advanced Ads plugin, so Advanced Ads must be installed and active on your WordPress site. Sticky Ads then adds fixed and anchored placement options to the ads you manage there.

Can visitors close a sticky ad?

You can add an optional close button to sticky placements. Visitors can use it to dismiss the ad temporarily, which helps balance ad visibility with a comfortable reading experience on your site.

Will sticky ads display properly on mobile devices?

The add-on is built with responsive design in mind, so sticky ads are meant to display on screens ranging from desktops to smartphones. You can also choose positions and centering to suit smaller layouts.

Can I use it with Google AdSense ads?

Yes. Sticky placements can be used with Google AdSense, and the add-on includes guidelines to help keep your placements compliant and avoid covering navigation or page content.

Is Sticky Ads free?

The code of Sticky Ads is licensed under the GPL, so anyone may use, change and share it. GPL Feast is a paid service: a plan or a single purchase gives you the download and automatic updates. The developer's own support, licence key and online services are not included.

Which version of Sticky Ads is this?

Version 2.0.6, released Jun 8, 2026. New versions appear here when the developer publishes them, and members get them as automatic updates.

How do I update Sticky Ads?

Install the free GPL Feast Updater on your site and connect it with your API key. It installs new versions of Sticky Ads automatically and keeps a backup, so you can roll back.

What does Sticky Ads need?

Sticky Ads needs Advanced Ads installed and active.
